Many countries are loosening the lockdown a little more every day and it is already clear that the world will never be the same.
This brings a lot of uncertainty about how the future will be. We know for sure we can not control what has happened in the world. It’s something that we have no power of.
What we, however, can control is how we respond to any situation.
There is no point in allowing a negative situation to affect our physical and mental being.
With time, there will always be some kind of solution to our problems. But if we allow them to affect us on a deeper and energetic way, they will hurt our health and our mental being in a much greater way.
In last weeks, we all went through the ‘initial panic’ stage, the stage where for many the vision of the future fell down like a house built of fragile cards.
Then came the stage of ‘getting used to it’. Humans can adapt to a change incredibly fast. There was the lockdown, and social distancing – many took this as a sign to socially disconnect, and silently suffer from their worries awaiting what will happen next – waiting for that moment when everything returns to the old ‘normal’.
But at some point, there must come the last stage – the realisation that the world will never be the same.
During these times many realise the inevitable and fundamental changes that need to be done mainly on a personal level.
This offers a great opportunity to look deeply at our lives and reconnect to our true values.
Perhaps more than ever the importance of self-love must be on the very top of the pyramid. Our mental health is what needs strengthening the most. This should be our number one priority.
As a result of the social distancing, the focus on the real connections shifted to the closest family and friends. We are social animals after all, and we thrive in groups. Importance of connection, mutual understanding, the feeling of being loved and love, is what makes the life moments worth remembering.
Hand-in-hand with our mental health goes our physical health. It’s the time to put an effort to un-learn the habits that no longer serve us.
Time to look back at what foods nourish us, and what foods cause dis-ease. We have never meant to eat foods that are deprived of life-sustaining nutrients, foods that are literally ‘numbing’ us, and our ability to make the right decisions.
Let’s reconsider the non-importance of junk food in our lives. Food is information – often the foods you eat affect what thoughts you think. Do you see the connection?
The time has also come to become more aware of what’s happening with the environment around us. Most of us (especially in big cities) live in a ‘toxic soup’. The number of toxins we expose our bodies to on a daily basis, plus the stress – the biggest toxin for our mind, are wreaking havoc on our wellbeing. This must change.
Educate yourself about the ingredients that are in your beauty and home products, and make an effort to consciously choose a healthier option.
For yourself, your loved ones, and the environment. Often, less is more.
Have you ever wondered what the ingredients on certain products mean? Can you read them? Do you understand them? If not, I challenge you to dig deeper!
Choose products with the least amount of ingredients, buy locally and seasonally whenever possible. This way you support the local businesses, local economy, and the place you grow, play and live in!
We are in this together.
When our days become dreary with low-hovering clouds of despair, and when our nights become darker than a thousand midnights, let us remember that there is a creative force in this universe, working to pull down the gigantic mountains of evil, a power that is able to make a way out of no way and transform dark yesterdays into bright tomorrows.
~ Martin Luther King Jr
Breathe, smile.
Everything will be OK in the end. And if it’s not OK, then it’s not the end.
Trust that everything that comes, good or bad, it’s just a part of the extraordinary journey that calls LIFE.
Keep Shining ☀️
Love ❤️
